The King of Saudi Arabia,

Subject to the article (70) of the Basic Law of Governance issued under the Royal Order No. (A/ 90) dated 27/ 08/ 1412 H.,

Subject to the article (20) of the Law of the Council of Ministers issued under the Royal Order No. (A/ 13) dated 3/ 03/ 1414 H.,

Subject to the articles (17) and (18) of the Law of the Shura Council issued under the Royal Order No. (A/ 91) dated 27/ 08/ 1412 H.,

And having reviewed the Shura Council’s decisions no. (183/ 75) dated 10/ 2/ 1434 H., and no. (152/ 77) dated 24/ 2/ 1436 H.,

Having reviewed the Council of Ministers’ decision no. (241) dated 25/ 4/ 1438 H.

Having reviewed the Royal Order no. (627 1 1) dated 8/ 3/ 1438 H.:

First:  Approved the implementation system of the Saudi Building Code with the attached form.

Second: The Deputy Prime Minister, the Ministers and the heads of concerned independent bodies shall, each in his own capacity, execute this decree.

The reverent Council of Ministers issued the Decree No. 324 dated 20/ 9/ 1431 H., approving a gradual plan to change the electricity distribution voltage in residential and commercial areas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from the current-voltage (220/127 volts) to the international voltage (400/230 volts), and the change shall be phased in so that it starts in the new areas and new subscribers in the existing areas as of the effective date of the decision. The change to the new voltage in the existing areas shall take place within 25 years from the effective date of the decision. This period shall be divided into the preliminary phase of (10) years, and the second executive phase of (15) years.
