What is Trailer & Semi-Trailer Inspection?

Trailer and Semi-Trailer Inspection is a comprehensive technical evaluation aimed at verifying the structural integrity, braking systems, suspension components, electrical and lighting systems, tires, and the connection interface with the tractor (Fifth Wheel & King Pin). The inspection is performed in accordance with safety standards such as SASO 2910, SASO 2288, and transport regulatory requirements.

How is the Inspection Performed?

Salm’s inspection team conducts a detailed assessment that includes:

Structural inspection of the chassis to identify any deformation, cracks, or corrosion.
Suspension system inspection including springs, bushings, and airbags.
Brake system inspection including air lines, control valves, and brake performance.
Inspection of tires and rims for tread depth, pressure, and suitability for load capacity.
Inspection of the tractor connection components such as the King Pin and Fifth Wheel for proper coupling and wear.
Electrical and lighting system inspection including indicators, brake lights, and side/rear lamps.
Flooring and body inspection for box trailers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers.
Verification of safety requirements including reflectors, rear underrun protection, and warning markings.
Issuance of a detailed technical report covering observations and recommendations.
